A Busy ALS Awareness Month at ALS United CT

May is ALS Awareness Month. We invite you to help us honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those living with ALS — and the families and caregivers who are beside them every day.

At ALS United Connecticut, this month is about more than awareness. It’s about action, connection, and community. It’s a time to come together, share stories, raise our voices, and continue pushing forward in the fight against ALS.

Throughout May, there are so many ways to get involved, show your support, and make an impact:

  • May 5-6: Advocacy Trip to Washington, D.C.  🏛️  – Taking our voices to Capitol Hill to fight for policies and funding that support the ALS community.
  • May 16th: Dan the Man 5K Road Race 🏃– To sign up or for more information, click here.
  • May 17th: 2026 Cornhole Tournament at Fairfield’s Jennings Beach  – Click here for more information and to sign up.
  • May 17th: Knock It Out of the Park Home Run Derby 💥 – Click here for more info and to register.
  • May 19: Learn. Talk. Use. 💬 – With Dottie Leighton of Hospital for Special Care. For more info and to register, email careservices@alsunitedct.org.

  • May 31: Lou Gehrig Day with the Hartford Yard Goats  – For tickets, click here or email Anne Lynch at alynch@alsunitedct.org. Tickets must be purchased by May 15th.
  • Times Square Billboard  – Keep an eye out for ALS United CT lighting up Times Square and helping raise awareness on one of the world’s biggest stages.
  • Want to receive advocacy updates?  – Click here to show your interest.

Each of these moments reflects the heart of our mission — ensuring that no one faces ALS alone.

Whether you attend an event, share our message, advocate, or donate, you are helping to make a difference for people living with ALS right here in Connecticut.

Together, we are building a stronger community. Together, we are driving progress.

Together, We End ALS!®
