2026 Walk ALS
Walk ALS, ALS United Connecticut's largest and most meaningful events of the year, brings our community together in the spirit of hope, remembrance, and unity. Each walk is an opportunity to honor the incredible strength of those living with ALS while also paying heartfelt tribute to the loved ones we have lost.
By joining Walk ALS, you become part of something truly special. Your participation and commitment help provide essential support to families facing ALS today, amplify advocacy efforts on their behalf, and fuel promising research for tomorrow. Every step taken and every dollar raised makes a real difference, reminding the ALS community that they are never alone.
Walk ALS is a family-friendly event that will take place over three weekends from the end of September through October. Walk ALS will take place in Hartford, New Haven, and Westport. All venues are wheelchair accessible, and free transportation is available to anyone living with ALS. For more information about any of the three Walk ALS events and to sign up, scroll down to view our three events.

Why We Walk!
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive and devastating neurodegenerative illness that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, gradually robbing people of their ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes, someone loses their life to it.
When you walk, roll, and stroll, you are doing so much more than taking steps! You are providing essential care and support for people living with ALS and their families, raising awareness and driving policy changes that improve the lives of patients and caregivers, and helping fund critical research that brings us closer to treatments and a cure.
