Jack Mac Scramble Raises Nearly $56K for ALS United CT!

The fourth annual Jack Mac Scramble for ALS charity golf tournament took place on September 15th at the Fairview Farm Golf Course in Harwinton, CT and raised $55,940 for ALS United CT. The funds raised supported the organization’s efforts to enhance the quality of life for local ALS patients and their families.

Combined with proceeds from the tournament’s first three years, over $180,000 has been donated in Jack McCarthy’s name to ALS United CT. In the above photo, Chris McCarthy, whose late husband Jack is the event’s honoree, presents the check to Jacky Rose, executive director of ALS United CT.

The tournament honors the memory of Torrington native Jack McCarthy, who died of ALS in September 2021. Jack ran his family’s beverage distribution business in Torrington, J&M Sales, before it was sold. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, Jack’s kindness and humor touched many throughout the area.
