Our Care Services

ALS United Connecticut offers a full range of services to guide and assist you as you learn more about ALS. Here you will find pertinent information for patients, caregivers, family members, friends and healthcare professionals.

Our organization is dedicated to providing patient and family support, and increasing public awareness regarding ALS. We offer a comprehensive array of services for ALS patients, family members and caregivers. When appropriate, we also make referrals to other agencies and groups offering supportive services.

On-Staff Care Services Managers

Our licensed social workers offer individual support and to assess needs, suggest equipment, connect with local resources and help families plan.

Doctor Patient

ALS Clinics, Centers and Physicians

We work with ALS multidisciplinary clinics, centers and individual neurologists in Connecticut and other states.

Transportation Program

We offer short rides through Coordinated Transportation Solutions (CTS) to provide transportation for people living with ALS in CT. Van rentals for longer trips are also available.

Equipment Loan Program

We partner with vendors across the state to assist in delivering and maintaining frequently requested loaner durable medical equipment (DME) including power wheelchairs and hoyer lifts.

We provide family caregiver-focused support groups, Care Connections guidance, and referrals.

We facilitate support groups for people living with ALS, caregivers, family members, and friends. More specific groups are also available.

Through our reimbursement fund programs, we can help offset some of the financial burdens for those living with ALS.
