Support Families Fighting ALS Today!

The most challenging eight months of Brian’s life began when he was just 12 years old and his dad approached him and said those three devastating words: “I have ALS.” When Tim shared his diagnosis, it marked the start of a journey filled with emotional and physical challenges for their entire family. Amid the upheaval, ALS United Connecticut was there. Brian said having a local organization to turn to for questions on managing Tim’s care was crucial:

“ALS United Connecticut helped us in countless ways. In addition to being a day-to-day resource, they provided financial assistance for home modifications, which we were able to utilize for bathroom remodeling. Making available a loan closet where supplies could be used or loaned out was a great financial savings as the stages of need progressed as quickly as the disease. What worked one week may not have worked the next, so loaning items made such sense financially. Items could be easily borrowed or returned, with the ALS United CT staff making the process seamless. When transferring Tim to a car became challenging, they even provided temporary vehicle assistance, ensuring he could still make essential appointments.

ALS United Connecticut gave me and my family a sense of normalcy with a blanket of comfort and security during a time that was it needed most. We wouldn’t be the people we are today without the unwavering support from ALS United CT.

Please join us in helping other families like Brian’s by making a gift today!
