The Importance of Emergency Prepardness

When an emergency or natural disaster strikes, it is important for everyone, especially for people living with ALS, to be prepared. It may seem like a lot of work, but doing a little at a time will ensure that you are ready for anything. You will feel more confident about protecting yourself and your loved ones in the event of a disaster.

If there is an emergency, you can either call or text 9-1-1. For more information on how to be prepared, make a plan, and stay informed, visit ALS United CT’s website by clicking here.

You can also visit the “CTReady! Personal Preparedness Guidelines” page by clicking here, set up emergency notifications and alerts via app or text by clicking here. In addition, you can also call the CT Department of Public Health at 860-509-8000 or the CT Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection at 860-685-8190.
